How The Ranking Was Done
The rankings were based on objective data collected from B- schools directly or from secondary sources and perceptual survey conducted among faculty and industry

Research organisation C fore conducted the survey to rank top B-schools in India.
B-schools were evaluated against 12 broad parameters and 55 sub-parameters. The rankings were based on objective data collected from B- schools directly or from secondary sources and perceptual survey conducted among faculty and industry.
Invitations were also sent to 700 B-schools to participate. In all 140 B-schools participated in the survey. The programmes which don’t have legal validity have not been considered for the ranking. The validation exercise was carried by a special team which cross-checked the data by asking for necessary documents like appointment letters, balance sheets, annual report, etc. The veracity of the information furnished was also checked by mystery auditing method. In case objective data could not be obtained or validated, perceptual data scores were extrapolated.
The perceptual survey was conducted among 1135 faculty members of different B-schools and industry representatives who were asked to rate the B-schools that they were familiar with on a ten point scale against different parameters listed below. The rating that they gave to their own institute was not considered.

Description of Parameters
Leadership/ Governance quality: Leadership qualities of institute’s director/CEO. Governance of the institute.
Faculty Welfare & Development: Is the environment in the institute conducive for growth of faculty, their training, measures taken by institute to enable faculty to do research, their participation in seminars and conferences in India and abroad and the salaries paid to them.
Competence of Faculty: This parameter is related to the effectiveness of faculty in dissemination of knowledge, their qualifications and experience.
Student Intake/ Selection Process: How stringent is the selection process of students to ensure merit and diversity of intake.
Industry Interface: Joint research projects undertaken with industry by faculty. The industry exposure given to students, live projects taken by them, etc.
Curriculum & Pedagogy: How updated is the curriculum. How effective is the teaching, learning process. Innovations in pedagogy to make dissemination of knowledge more learner friendly.
Internationalism: Steps taken by the institute to promote global outlook among faculty and students. Exchange programmes for faculty and students.
Infrastructure and Facilities: This parameter refers to campus area, built-up area, how well kept the institute’s building is, labs, play grounds, IT enabled classrooms, computers, books in library, electronic databases, hostels, pastrol care etc..
Research: How conducive environment is for faculty to do research. Time and other resources given to faculty for research. Publications in A, B,C grade refereed journals.
Placements: The percentage of students of the graduating batch placed, average salary that they get, type of companies that visit the campus for placements.
Life Skills /Soft Skills: To what extent does the institute also teach students interpersonal skills, communication skills, critical thinking skills and other life/soft skills?
Value for money: Is the quality of education imparted and facilities in school at par with the fee charged? Is every child getting the worth of money spent on fees?
