The perception which everyone holds for an author is, that they are just story tellers. After reading life changing books; one realizes how authors have the power to do so much more. More than anyone else, nowadays, authors are becoming motivational leaders. They write stories which inspire, motivate and educate the readers. They share their own stories and experiences, which have made them well-respected motivational leaders. They are extremely open about things and write about incidents, which are considered a taboo in the nation, breaking the norms of the society. Their sincerity and strong viewpoints inspire the readers, which makes them motivational leaders.
The Power of Storytelling
There is always one such novel, that inspires all the avid readers and changes their life in some way or the other. That very novel guides one, through a crisis and also helps them in making major life decisions, during tough times. Authors, use the power of storytelling to motivate their readers. According to Psychology Today, stories are how we think. The brain is wired to look for stories which are inspirational and make sense to the readers; which widen their imagination and inspire them. The most engaging storytelling activity helps them to inculcate the story and helps them to relate to it, better. For instance, if someone has suffered the tragedy of living through a car wreck while everyone else passed away. By sharing the experience and how the author moved on, they will easily be able to connect with their readers, who have suffered the same. They can easily guide their readers to a better place, by motivating them through their stories. Such is the power of storytelling and it's the basis for how authors are becoming motivational leaders. Even if one is not an author, effective storytelling can still evolve a person to be a motivational leader.
Step outside the Norm
Authors who step outside the norm and tell a story from a different angle are the ones who tend to be the most inspiring. For instance, if an author showcases the world of romance in different light than what most romance novels do, they should focus on painting a picture of what true love really is and how does it feel to be in love, lose that love and find it again. Such stories help the authors by motivating them for not giving up on love, even in hard times. Readers can easily determine whether it is a true story or a made up one. This is what helps them go beyond an enjoyable read to making it truly engaging with the character and the author's words.
Continue Engaging With Your Readers
There are plenty of authors who write their books and that are pretty much it. They might write the occasional blog post or social media update. However, they don't continue truly engaging with their readers. For authors, this is the last step in becoming one of those authors that becomes a true motivational leader. These authors continue beyond the story by answering questions, telling more stories, offering advice from their own experiences and encouraging others as they go through their own ups and downs in life.
When one pours out their heart into their novels and stories, why let the journey end there? They know for themselves, every way how they can keep their readers connected to the novel. Authors must stay active on social media, write blog posts, guest post on relevant sites and do what it takes to continue motivating their readers; this is what makes the authors, motivational leaders.
