Whenever there is lack of balance, our brain reacts erratically. I have had so many cases of working professionals coming to me with anxiety, mood swings, depression and their career going downhill because of low energy, lack of interest in their work and an inability to bond with their superiors and colleagues. Why does this happen? How do some people just turn up at work and stay happy and stay consistent on their paths and others get dissatisfied, disillusioned and give up easily? It is all due to the wonderful nutrients, chemicals and oxygen inside your mind and body that leads to an emotional balance or imbalance. The physical balance of the right nutrients and the right amount of activity in your life will lead to a mental balance which will affect your moods positively. So what is the balance which will promote the stillness of the mind in a turbulent environment? How can you stay focused on your path for your milestones to be achieved when your industry, your colleagues, your bosses are unpredictable?
Think of the most expensive and sexy car that you want but cannot own. Now think that you own it. Then think of what kind of fuel it will need. Are you going to give it kerosene and ruin it or are you going to give the expensive fuel it needs to run it smoothly?
That is how your body functions as well. When it malfunctions, your mood goes completely off. Continued malfunctioning leads to a series of switch offs in your brain leading to triggers for anxiety, anger, helplessness and frustration, all of which leads to a compromised output of work. Your employer does not see what is happening inside you, they only see is that your work quality is below par and hence everything in the path of your ambition is affected. If you have your own business, expansion, collaborations and partnerships will become an issue because you won't be the kind of person people will want to sit and discuss expansion with if you are constantly in a bad mood. Hence, like that expensive car which you take care of so well, please put nourishing foods, lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of green vegetables inside you so that you can achieve the correct nutrient balance in your mind and body for the mood balance to return. In the olden days, we all used to eat two meals a day, and with each meal we used to have vegetables. As the world moved towards three meals and a sedentary lifestyle, the concept of breakfast eliminated vegetables completely and replaced it with refined carbohydrates and inflammatory milk products, leading to a higher level of agitation in your mind and body. Lunch and dinner are no better, because the quantity of vegetables on our plate is just one fourth whereas it needs to be at least half for us to be able to maintain the balance to ensure that our mood is always positive and focused on our work. Brain concentration levels cannot be high if naturally made vitamins via fresh green leafy vegetables are not going inside our blood stream.
Hence, the simplest way to get your happiness IQ and make your mind calm and still is to just increase the number of vegetables on your plate at every meal. This one single change is going to change your perspective and outlook towards your own life and career path and lead you to higher success, because your concentration levels will increase, your work quality will increase, your mood will be better, making you the sought-after colleague or business partner to collaborate with, and people will respect you for your patience and calmness in solving problems.
