Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani Resigns Ahead Of Assembly Polls

Rupani has submitted his resignation to the Governor of Gujrat, Acharya Devvrat. According to the reports, he was accompanied by four ministers.

After the political crisis in Uttarakhand over the Chief Minister post, now BJP leader Vijay Rupani has stepped down as Chief Minister of Gujarat, on Saturday evening. 

Rupani has submitted his resignation to the Governor of Gujrat, Acharya Devvrat. According to the reports, he was accompanied by four ministers.

This came as an unexpected move, amid the upcoming Gujarat Assembly Election in early next year. 

Meanwhile, an official statement is yet to come out which will explain the proper reason for Rupani's resignation.

Vijay Rupani is the fourth Chief Minister of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to step down in recent months. 

In the month of July this year, BS Yediyurappa resigned as Karnataka CM. Meanwhile, the controversy in Uttarakhand, where Tirath Singh Rawat quit barely four months after replacing Trivendra Rawat.
