Ford India Sells 15,282 Vehicles In July

Ford India sold 15,282 vehicles in combined domestic wholesales and exports in July, a 24 per cent increase from 12,338 vehicles sold in the corresponding month last year. July exports grew to 7,690 vehicles from 4,471 vehicles a year ago, while domestic wholesales remained steady at 7,592 units compared to 7,867 units sold in July last year.

“There are several indicators to suggest a gradual revival in customer sentiment in the past few months, including cues from the stock market and a steady improvement in manufacturing index,” said Vinay Piparsania, executive director of Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford India.

In line with its philosophy of democratizing technology, Ford also launched an Innovate Mobility Challenge Series in eight different locations around the world in July, including Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai in India. The challenge invites developers to use Ford’s Open XC program to create mobile phone applications that leverage vehicle data and real-time infrastructure information, such as traffic bottlenecks, for the benefit of fellow drivers. Each region has a specific challenge for participants to tackle and winners will be determined by a panel of Ford executives and local experts.

Tata Motors Sells 39,623 Vehicles In July

Tata Motors’ total sales (including exports) of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles in July 2014 were 39,623 vehicles, a decline of 23 per cent over 51,549 vehicles sold in July 2013. The company’s domestic sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for July 2014 were 35,256 vehicles., 25 per cent decline over 47,272 nos. sold in July last year. 

Cumulative sales (including exports) for the company for the fiscal are 149,597 nos., lower by 27 per cent over 204,744 vehicles, sold last year.

The company’s sales of commercial vehicles in July 2014 in the domestic market were 26,089 nos., a 28% decline compared to 36,448 vehicles sold in July last year. LCV sales were 16,364, a decline of 39% over July last year, while M&HCV sales stood at 9,725, remained flat in July.

Sales of passenger vehicles for July 2014 were at 9,167, lower by 15 per cent over 10,824 vehicles sold in July 2013.  Sales of the Nano/ Indica/ Indigo range in July 2014 were 6,703, lower by 22% over 8,546 vehicles sold in July 2013. The Sumo/ Safari/ Aria/ Venture range sales were 2,464 nos., a growth of 8% over 2,278, sold in July last year.   

Honda Cars India Records 40% Sales Growth In July

Honda Cars India Ltd, automakes of India, recorded a monthly domestic sales of 15,709 units in July 2014 registering a growth of 40 per cent. The company sold 11,223 units in the corresponding month last year.

The company sold 56,427 units from April – July’14 as against 40,350 units sold during the same period last year, marking a growth of 40 per cent.
