Taking forward the premise of Swachh Bharat, Harpic signed on actor Akshay Kumar as its brand ambassador to drive its new campaign of ‘Har Ghar Swachh’.

Underlining its commitment to support sanitation and open-defecation-free (ODF) initiatives, Harpic along with Akshay aims to provide universal access to clean toilets to each and every Indian and emphasise on the importance of maintaining a clean toilet.

Akshay is also the brand ambassador for the government’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan. In the Har Ghar Swachh campaign, the actor plays an evangelist who emphasises the need for cleaning and maintaining toilets regularly to ensure a healthier living.

Sukhleen Aneja of RB Hygiene Home, says, “We want to get sanitation in the centre of conversations; we can no longer treat toilets as a stepchild of the house. They should be seen with a sense of pride and joy. We urge people to join us in this mission so that we all can ensure a healthier and hygienic life for ourselves and for our families.”

The TVC will be seen on television and digital platforms in addition to promotional advertising across platforms including print, mobile and points of sale. There will also be consumer and media outreach programmes with Akshay Kumar.

Commenting on his association with the brand, Akshay Kumar says, “There is a growing need to sensitise people on the need and importance of keeping their toilets clean and hygienic. It gives me immense pleasure to associate with Harpic to drive the Har Ghar Swachh mission.”

Talking about the reason for having Akshay Kumar as the brand ambassador, Aneja says, “He is one of the biggest superstars in the country today. He appeals to people across age groups, geographies and film genres. An accomplished actor and a strong supporter of the sanitation movement in India, he is the ambassador for the Swachh Bhaarat Abhiyaan and has championed the social issue of ODF through his blockbuster movie Toilet Ek Prem Katha, which emphasises the role of women in rural India in driving behaviour change. Harpic stands for expertise, trust, reliability and positive social change – values true to Akshay. Therefore, the partnership between Harpic and Akshay is a natural extension of these values that we share. With Akshay as the evangelist, Harpic continues to strengthen its journey towards providing access to clean and hygienic sanitation to each and every Indian.”
