Ennoble IP And Women Innovation and Entrepreneurship Foundation (WIEF) Organizes World IP Day

World IP day is a great opportunity to get people interested in issues relating to intellectual property(IP). April 26 across the globe is celebrated as World IP Day- a day on which the global IP communities joins with others to acknowledge the fundamentally important role of IP in promoting innovation and development throughout the world. This year Annual World IP Day (26 April) is dedicated to women. The theme for this year was Powering Change: Women in Innovation And Creativity.

Ennoble IP consultancy Pvt. Ltd., Noida and Women innovation & Entrepreneurship Foundation(WIEF) in support with Ministry of MSME, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Startup India, invited all the women innovators at Constitution Club of India, New Delhi to celebrate the day and hear and meet the experts in IP and women innovators. As this year’s world, intellectual property day campaign celebrates the brilliance, ingenuity, curiosity, and courage of the women who are driving change in our world and shaping our common future.

The programme helped to strengthen the Startup and SMEs Indian IP ecosystem. Program was focused on innovation and creativity identification, protection and commercialization.

The half day programme included:-

  1. Importance of IPR for Indian Startups
  2. Identification, Protection and Commercialisation of IP
  3. Innovation workshop
  4. Recognizing women in innovation - Life-changing ideas that women have come up with helping to eradicate our everyday problems and advance technology, industry and economy Identification, Protection and Commercialization of IP.
  5. Demonstrating the innovation and creativity of Indian Women
  6. Techno future of Indian Women.
  7. Government support for IP/Patents/Innovation.

The Chief guest of the event was Ms. Ravneet Kaur - Chairperson and Managing Director, Indian Tourism Development Corporation, where as Sh. Piyush Srivastava – Additional Development Commissioner MSME, Mr. Deepak Bagla – CEO Invest India, Mr. Rahul Verma - Head Content Operation Clarivate Analytics, Dr. H. Purushotham – CMD NRDC were Guest Of Honor for the day.
 Mr. Anurag Batra was the Keynote speaker for the day. Event also witnessed domain specific eminent speaker from government and industry like Ms. Nayani Nasa - Manager Startup India, Dr. R.K. Panigrahi - Former Director Ministry of MSME DI Delhi, Mr. Vedant Pujari - CEO Accures Legal, Ms. Priya Rao - Partner K&S, Ms. Lakshika Joshi - Global IP Head Arcient, Ms. Kanika Radhakrishnan - Founder, Evergreen Valley Law Group, Sanjose, California, Mr. Dinesh Jotwani - Head Govt. Affairs, NCR Corp, Ms. Aparna Sarogi - Vice President RBS, Executive Chairman, WEE Foundation, Ms. Dolly Bhasin - Director Innovation & Incubation, Incuspaze and there were 200+ participants from startups, smes, industry and academia.

The event included series of interactive session on: role of IP in strategizing business, Identification, protection and commercialization of IP and Techno future of Indian Women. Out of hundreds of nomination from PAN India 13 women entrepreneurs and personnel were recognised who have made outstanding contribution in innovation and creativity.

At the occasion Lakhita Joshi- General Counsel & Head of IP licensing at Aricent, said, IP is not only limited to patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secret also plays a major in the growth of the company. Because what we know nike, Adidas, and other multinational companies is there brand, and we identify these brands by their logos. She also quoted about trade secret of CocaCola, no other company can replicate or can give the same taste as of CocaCola because they have preserved their recipe as a trade secret.

Dolly Bhasin- Director Innovation & Incubation, Incuspaze, said about the techno future of Indian Women. She quoted that “Women are the best investors” as they don’t take risk they will do only needful, they are smart competitor as they know where to invest and when to invest. In future more specialised jobs will take place and apart from regular colleges and universities domain training will be the future as they take less time and give maximum result.

It has been continuous endeavour by Ennoble IP, WIFE, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, MSME, StarupIndia, nesbud, associate partners Accurus Legal, K&S partners, CIMSME and knowledge partners Galgotia University and Indian Academy of Law and Management to encourage and celebrate women and their achievements.
