What are you reading at the moment?
A gift from one of our hotel general managers 'Jugaad Innovation'. The book gives a great insight into how innovation can ensure you take a lead in business.

'Half Luck and Half Brains' by Kemmons Wilson, the founder of the Holiday Inn Brand and one of the all-time leaders in hospitality innovation. A hotelier in the early 1950s simply looked at the hotel needs of the Americas, growing middle class and from there built the world’s largest and most recognized hotel brand. It resonates a lot given the growth in India and reminds me that we always need to understand the changing needs of our customers and adapt.

The one book business leaders must read... and why?
'Execution: The Discipline of Getting Things Done' by Larry Bossidy and Ram Charan. Great practical insight into driving real results in a business – how to motivate people to not only theorize on what needs to be done but to focus on clear action that will move the business forward.

What kind of books would you normally buy while travelling?
Cookery books, I have far too many! But I just love to learn about the cuisine of a place I am visiting as I believe this is the best way to also learn about their culture. I enjoy great food photography and am trying my hand at cooking new recipes.

Have you written any books? Do you plan to write in future? What subject would you want to write on.
No, but would love to write about food and travel as these are two things I am very passionate about.

The books you grew up with? What did you like most about them?
Enid Blyton, the wonderful sense of adventure that inspired you to think anything was possible.

Your book shelf consists of....
The majority of books I have are about food and travel and I collect both new and old cookery books. Apart from that I have a host of management books and a few on Psychology which is an area that really interests me.

Where do you shop for books?
I still love browsing a great book store but it is getting harder to do these days, so I do also use Amazon.

Have your reading habits changed in the past four or five years? If so, how....
I have been reading more books on management and business trends to keep up to date and improve myself as a leader.

One book that you received as a gift and you cherish... who gave it to you?
'The Bone People' by Keri Hulme given to me by a dear friend and one of my favourite books of all time.

Which is the e-reader you read on?
I am still old fashioned and love to read a good old book made of paper. However, I do use my iPad for an occasional book.
