Diseases Know No Geography, Wellbeing Is Must: Renuka Chaudhari, Ex-Minister Of Women And Children Development

The first BW Businessworld wellbeing summit explored emotional intelligence as an effective weapon for leaders. Sujith Ravindran, author, wellbeing leader and spiritual speaker chaired the last panel of this first-of-its-kind summit for its first day. Panelists included Prakriti Poddar, mental health expert & managing trustee of Poddar Foundation, Sandeep Bidani, India's first specially-abled HR leader and motivational speaker, Suzy Singh Author, wellbeing coach, counselor and clinical hypnotherapist along with Andrea Stone, partner, positive momentum.


Sujith brought attention to the huge audience and kicked off the session by putting relevant points towards all the panelists. Sujith shared that a renowned FMCG company gets to a result post a survey to know that employees activity and creativity are changing with time. He also focussed on how in the changing structures of organisations, emotional quotient and spiritual quotient are coming up. 


Prakriti said that wellness is holistic to her as she deals with corporate sector. "Unmasking has been part of my career," said Prakriti. "Moving brain needs an active tool as emotional intelligence, your quality of self is essential to emotional intelligence," she continued. "Life is not a bed of roses and one has to rise above it, emotional intelligence helps you do it," Prakriti said.


Sandeep Bidani told about himself and said, "I am an engineer who connects the minds. The organisation focuses on competency and measures the performance. Innovation and mass production lead to industrial revolution," said Sandeep.


Suzy had been interactive while she shared an experience of one of her visitors who is a young kid. She said, "the kid was getting anxiety due to issues between parents and he started losing his temper because his grandmother never wanted him to indulge in the fight." Suzy shared how the kid developed short-term memory loss due to his emotional intelligence that was hampered by the arguments between parents. "I spend some time with myself to shed my negative developments," said Suzy.


Andrea on the other hand told about her love with nature that lead her to develop emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence. "Nature makes me more adaptive," informed Andrea. She called upon leaders to connect themselves with things bigger than themselves.


The panel was shortly followed by launching BW Businessworld wellbeing community by the Ex-minister of women & child welfare and tourism, Renuka Chaudhari along with Editor-in-Chief of BW Businessworld Dr. Anurag Batra.


Speaking in the occasion, Renuka said "Wellbeing is critical to us because diseases need no geography. She has also thrown light on the changing of every social aspect including politics. "Today it's not the pursuit of perfection but acceptance," said Renuka. She also touched upon the issue of 'not every science suits all' while sharing alleged limitations of Ayurveda.
