Dell’s ProSupport Flex for Data Center offers flexibility to build a support plan that complements the skills of internal resources and provides tailored support.

BCG Releases A Compendium of Winning Moves For Leaders Own The Future
The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) has announced the publication of Own the Future: 50 Ways to Win from The Boston Consulting Group. The book is part of BCG’s Game Changing Program—a year-long endeavor engaging leaders on how to navigate shifts in business and the global economy.

Own the Future offers 50 powerful ways for executives to face the challenges and seize the opportunities in a time of economic restructuring and rising uncertainty. At the book’s core is a manifesto for radical transformation that has been BCG’s underlying mission since its founding 50 years ago.

“The decisions that leaders make today and over the next ten years will have an extraordinary and enduring impact on their own fortunes as well as on those of their organizations, the global economy, and society at large,” write the editors, BCG President and Chief Executive Officer Rich Lesser and senior partners and managing directors Michael Deimler, David Rhodes, and Janmejaya Sinha. “By definition, the future is unknowable with certainty, but leaders can prepare by developing the capabilities needed to pivot one way or the other depending on circumstances. The goal is to put themselves in the best position to win—to change the game and own the future.”

UCWeb Announces India As Its 2nd Headquarter
UCWeb, a leading global provider of mobile internet software and services, has announced its growth strategy for the Indian market. India is the second largest growth market after China for UCWeb and its flagship product, UC Browser.

Xiaopeng He, Co-founder and President, UCWeb said "the company considers India to be its second headquarter after China and will focus on video and download as a key differentiator to achieve leadership position in India".

In addition, UCWeb also announced the release of updated versions of UC Browser for the Android, Java and iPad which includes video technology enhancement, crucial to the localization in the Indian market.

He further added, “We are working towards building an open ecosystem by investing in teams and technology in India. We truly believe that India will be a big contributor to our objective of becoming a billion user company. We are working with partners across domains and verticals by way of sharing traffic, users, and revenue with them; thus creating a mutually beneficial relationship for both. The Indian mobile internet community will benefit from the investment that we make in building an ecosystem in the market. We are open to explore fresh stream of ideas and newer business models to sustain the vitality of the community.”

SafeNet Announces Crypto Hypervisor
SafeNet has announced limited availability of the SafeNet Crypto Hypervisor, enabling organisations to virtualise their crypto resources in an efficient and scalable way, and ensuring that all data can be safely encrypted, even as it moves in a virtualized environment, in order to prevent data loss.

With the SafeNet Crypto Hypervisor, IT departments and service providers can deliver on-demand, elastic key vaulting and encryption services for data protection across physical, virtual, and cloud environments in minutes instead of days. The solution’s high assurance encryption services fit the cloud operations model and the full cost and innovation advantages of virtualization can be exploited without compromising security or compliance. IT maintains full, centralized control of the delivery of encryption services such as secure key storage. Users have full control of their encryption service, and can be assured that other tenants and administrators cannot access their encryption keys.

SafeNet’s Crypto Hypervisor solves these issues by extending and virtualizing the market-leading SafeNet Luna SA 5 Hardware Security Module (HSM) to fit into the operational models of virtual and cloud environments. The Crypto Hypervisor can be centrally controlled and configured by crypto administrators using the new SafeNet Crypto Command Center. The administrators can build a catalog of services available on the Crypto Hypervisor. Users can now log in to a web portal to view a catalog of services that they have permission to create. These users can provision the services they need on demand on shared physical hardware. This process can reduce new service rollout from days down to minutes.

Dell Voted The iSCSI Storage Market Leader For 3rd Consecutive Year
Dell has emerged as the iSCSI storage market leader for the 3rd consecutive year as per the iSCSI storage Brand Leader survey 2013.

The survey respondents further chose Dell as a leader in six categories including Market, Price, Performance, Reliability, Innovation and Service & Support. The survey results indicate that for iSCSI storage, the breadth of Dell’s capabilities stands out in an ultra-competitive field.

The iSCSI Brand Leader Reports are designed to measure the pulse of brand leadership in specific product categories using surveys with at least 100 respondents. Major storage manufacturers position iSCSI as a component level interface option. Since the acquisition of EqualLogic, Dell has successfully positioned iSCSI as architecture for more cost-effective networked storage and LAN/SAN convergence.  In terms of IT perceptions, Dell’s strategy has paid off and Dell has become the perennial brand leader in iSCSI Storage.

Maxim Integrated’s 12/16-Channel AFEs Reducing Battery-Management Systems Cost By Up To 35%

Maxim Integrated Products, Inc has announced it is sampling the MAX14920/MAX14921, high-accuracy, 12/16-channel cell-measurement analog front-ends (AFEs) that lower battery-management electronics costs by up to 35 per cent. These devices double the accuracy of cell voltage readings through the use of high-accuracy common-mode level shifting and an integrated high-precision amplifier that simplifies ADC data conversion.

Higher accuracy improves state-of-charge determination and cell balancing that in turn lengthen the life of rechargeable Lithium-ion (Li+) battery packs and maximize available energy, especially important for modern battery chemistries that exhibit flat voltage discharge curves, such as those with LiFePO4 cathodes.  The MAX14920/MAX14921 enable the industry’s highest accuracy cell voltage measurements (±0.5mV, max). Ideal for 48V to 65V pack voltages required in uninterruptible power-supply (UPS) systems, smart grid energy-storage packs, and telecom power backup-battery packs, the MAX14921 eliminates up to two 6-channel AFEs required for 13S-16S channel battery packs.
