Dangal has been smashing all overseas record for a Hindi movie since its release, and is inching closer to Rs 1,000 crore mark. Dangal has managed great footfalls even in Week 4 of its run. The movie stands at a record total of Rs 780 crore at the box-office.

Dangal ended weekend 3 at a positive note and went past the Rs 720 crore mark. Refusing to slow down on the weekdays, Dangal collected another Rs 60 crore in two days. The movie collected $3.40 million on Monday followed by $3.10 million on Tuesday. Looking at the trend the movie will go past Rs 850 crore by the end of Week 4 and close to Rs 1,000 crore by the end of Week 5.

Dangal has maintained the top spot at the China box-office since its release, beating behind the big Hollywood and other regional releases. The buzz of the movie has been flattering since its debut in the Beijing International Film Festival earlier this year.

Riding on the impressive buzz, Dangal opened to record occupancy and box-office numbers in China. Bringing in moderate business in the first week, the fate of Dangal changed in Week 2. The movie collected Rs 200 crore in the 2nd weekend smashing all records and becoming the biggest Bollywood overseas grosser of all time.

Before the release of Dangal in China, the movie’s worldwide gross was Rs 750 crore. The domination made by Dangal at the China box-office is worth applauding. The movie has collected Rs 780 crore at the box-office, that’s more than the worldwide gross of Dangal including all the markets.

Dangal now stands at a total worldwide gross of Rs 1500 crore. The movie is edging closer to Prabhas’s magnum opus Baahubali, which stand at a worldwide gross of over Rs 1600 crore.

With Dangal doing remarkable business in China, it clearly indicates the importance of good content in order to reach out to the International audiences. Aamir’s Dangal has set huge benchmarks in China and it will be tough for Aamir or any other Khan to beat the record even in India.

Dangal is the highest grossing non dubbed Hindi film in India with a collection of Rs 370 crore. Looking at the trend, the lifetime collections of Dangal in China will be three times of that in India. The Indian box-office scenario has to change in order to get more box-office engagement in the coming days.
