Crude Oil Futures Rise On Spot Demand

Crude oil for October delivery traded higher by Rs 173, or 2.91 per cent, at Rs 6,114 per barrel in 11,415 lots.

Crude oil prices rose by Rs 173 to Rs 6,114 per barrel on Monday as participants widened their positions on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for October delivery traded higher by Rs 173, or 2.91 per cent, at Rs 6,114 per barrel in 11,415 lots.

Analysts said the raising of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in futures trade.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude oil was up 2.33 per cent to USD 81.20 per barrel, while Brent crude traded 1.74 per cent higher at USD 83.82 per barrel in New York.
