COVID-19 Impacts 42% of Adults: Health Ministry

Maximum number of COVID-19 cases are from the age group of 21-40 years

As the COVID-19 cases rise to 2902 in India, the Health Ministry data analysis reveals that Coronavirus has impacted the population between the age group of 21-40 the most.

Almost, 42 per cent of reported cases are from this age group and 33 per cent reported cases are between 41-60 years of age, said a senior official during the press briefing on 4 April, Saturday.

"The disease has least infected the individuals between 0-20 years of age followed by 61 and above, with only 17 per cent reported cases till date," the official said.

As of 4 April, there wete 58 critical cases, mainly in Madhya Pradesh, Delhi and Kerala, he said. Based on the ground level report, these number will vary daily, the official added.

In the last 24 hours, India has registered 601 new cases and 12 deaths, the maimum in a day, so far. Till date 183 patients have recovered too,  the Health Ministry data revealed.

Meanwhile, ministry of Home Affairs updated on the the 1st instalment of State Disaster Response Fund. 

MHA said it has released fund amounting Rs 11,052 crore, yesterday for the migrant workers and disaster management units working in the states.
