The no exam year CBSE Board Class 10 results were announced on 3rd August. 20 lakh students have already received their class 10 results. With a pass percentage of 99.4 per cent students of 2021 have set the highest yet record. The overall pass percentage is almost 8 per cent more than 2020, 91.46 per cent and in 2019, 91.10 per cent. The closest pass percentage to this year was seen in 2014, at 98.87 per cent, when most schools had chosen to not have the board exams, instead choosing continuous evaluation.

This year also had 1,080 more schools under CBSE Board than the year before. That is 21,467 in 2021, compared to 20,387 in 2020.

CBSE cancelled the Class 10 Board examinations on 14 March 2021, two months before the exams, in light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Due to lockdown rules, all schools conducted examinations in different modes, most opting for online classes and exams. Bearing this in mind the assessment criteria was the following:

·       10 per cent from Unit Tests

·       30 per cent from Mid Term Exam

·       40 per cent from Pre-Board Exam

·       20 per cent from Internal Assessment by schools

No merit list will be prepared by the Board and all students will receive a combined mark-sheet cum certificate, instead of a separate mark sheet and passing certificate.
