While the E-commerce ones say they are booming but it's only a show, as many are making losses due to their huge advertising campaigns aimed at killing the Brick and Mortar business

I want to go into the fashion retail business but don't know which one to choose.

What do you mean, which fashion retail business to choose, get a shop and start.

That's where you are wrong. I can't just get a shop
 and start.

Why what is wrong do you have a financial problem?

No I don't have a financial problem but these days nobody gets a shop and starts a fashion retail business.

Then what do they do?

There are two alternatives in fashion retailing, which are baffling me.

What are they?

Should I go the BM way or should I opt for the EC way. There is a big battle between the BM vs EC ways.

What is this BM vs EC ways?

They are Brick and Mortar or the E-Commerce ways of course haven't you heard about these two options?

Oh that, well you have to decide.

The Brick and Mortar stores are crying as no one is coming to their outlets any more.

That is sad.

While the E-commerce ones say they are booming but it's only a show, as many are making losses due to their huge advertising campaigns aimed at killing the Brick and Mortar business.

Oh dear where will all this end now. I thought people wanted the shopping experience of touch, feel, wear and stroll through malls.

They are strolling through malls to experience them but it is to have fun and eat not to buy fashion.

Oh then how will designers sell their collections after fashion weeks?

They link up with E-commerce sites immediately and get their returns fast or have their own websites. It's no more consignment basis, its cash and carry.

But aren't there hassles in that way, like wrong sizes, wrong products being delivered and returning being tedious?

I suppose it must be but people are living in the virtual world for nearly everything. Their bills are paid on line, food is ordered, clothes are picked, homes are sold and bought, even children's schools and nannies are picked on-line so it must be a great way to do business.

Okay if that is what you think works, then go ahead.

The other advantage is that small towns where there are no fashion outlets can book their clothes from on-line sites and the business grows because of that.

That sounds good since you can't reach the interiors of the country where there are fashion conscious people.

But there is one thing that I will miss if I go for E-commerce, which I would have in the Brick and Mortar store.

What is that?

I will miss standing in a store and being the "King of All I Survey" and watching people walk out with clothes in our carry bags.

Well you can't have everything; either you live in the tough tedious real world or the easy virtual one, whether it is for fashion or for anything else in your life.
