Box-Office Predictions: Mom, Guest Iin London, Spiderman: Homecoming

Among the three box-office releases, Spiderman: Homecoming is likely to dominate the box-office. The film has gained a lot of hype due to the presence of Robert Downey Jr., who will be playing the role of Iron Man (Marvel Comics character).

The coming weekend (7 to 9 July) may not be huge for Bollywood in terms of box-office numbers. Mom and Guest Iin London will hit theatres this weekend along with the much awaited Spiderman: Homecoming.

Among the three box-office releases, Spiderman: Homecoming is likely to dominate the box-office. Spiderman is the most popular Marvel Comics character in India and the last Spiderman film (The Amazing Spiderman) became the highest grossing Hollywood film, when it was released back in 2014. The film has gained a lot of hype due to the presence of Robert Downey Jr., who will be playing the role of Iron Man (Marvel Comics character).

Spiderman: Homecoming will open with paid-preview shows post 6 pm on Thursday (6 July) with over 400 screens. According to early trends, the pre-booking for the movie is very good for Thursday shows. Spiderman: Homecoming is expected to open over Rs 10 crore on Friday (7 July) and the paid-preview collections for Thursday are expected to be on the lines of Rs 4-5 crore. The opening weekend collection for the film is expected to go past Rs 38 crore.

Sridevi starrer Mom will be one of the Hindi releases this weekend. The film has received excellent reviews from the critics before its release. The suspense thriller also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Akshaye Khanna. Packed with great performers, the film is expected to grow with good word of mouth working in its way. The film is stated to start slow, but gain momentum in the week days.

Mom will open close to Rs 2-3 crore on Friday (7 July). However, Saturday (8 July) and Sunday (9 July) is expected to show healthy growth for the movie. Mom is likely to close between Rs 10-12 in the opening weekend.

Guest Iin London is the sequel to the 2010 hit film Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge? The film is expected to open between Rs 2-3 crore on Friday (7 July) and the weekend collections will be on the lines of Rs 7-8 crore. With Guest Iin London losing the star value of Ajay Devgn, the collections of the film will largely depend on good reviews and solid word of mouth.
