There has been about a 5% year on year growth in premium beauty products and services segments. The reason behind this growth is change in consumer lifestyle, more spending ability as well as awareness. Teens are increasingly becoming huge drivers of growth in the beauty market as they keep themselves abreast of latest fads and fashion through social media platforms. Bridal business drove the market in 2017 more than it used to two years before. The beauty industry is witnessing sharp rise in demand for procedures like laser skin treatment and body sculpting apart from the ubiquitous makeup services during the bridal season. As the year 2017 is approaching its end, it's time to look at the trends in the beauty and slimming industry that topped the to-do list of consumers ranging from teens to sexagenarians.
o Skin Resurfacing solutions: USFDA approved skin resurfacing is a skin therapy is nowadays used for various skin corrections ranging from skin brightening, skin lightening, skin hydration, pigment correction, acne and acne scars improvement, reduction in superficial wrinkles and correction of photo damaged skin.
o Thermage: Due to ageing process, the facial skin starts drooping down and jowls appear on the face with the laugh lines becoming prominent. A USFDA approved bipolar radiofrequency device which causes tissue heating resulting in collagen remodeling helps to improve the jowls and makes the laugh lines better resulting in lifting of face skin giving a younger fresher and rejuvenated look to the face.
o HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound): This device based treatment which is CE approved is based on ultrasound rays which cause tightening of the muscle layer beneath the facial skin and also works on the face skin resulting in collagen remodeling. The results of which make the face look sleeker and shaper with great jaw line definition with double chin reduction and brow lifting.
o Ultherapy: As a person ages the skin along with the muscle layer starts to get flabby and droops down. Ultherapy is a USFDA approved technology which is tailor made with people having broad face, drooping skin, ill defined jaw line and droopy brows. The device based treatment gives a good improvement and lifts the face resulting in a sharper lifted face.
o Platelets-based Face Lift: This treatment modality combines the use of the regenerative power of one's own blood to improve the skin texture and feel through growth factors present in one's own blood. To add to it, volume enhancement and facial lines correction can be performed to give a youthful, peppy and hydrated look.
o Thread Lift: With age the skin volume loss occurs and it sags down. To make the skin look firmer, tighter and lifted, biodegradable medical threads (simple, screw, double screw, cogs/barbed) are passed beneath the skin to give the desired wow lifting effect to turn back the ageing clock.
o Fat Freezing: It is highly effective in selectively targeting fat cells without damage to other cells or tissues. An ultra-low temperature spot cooling process called cryolipolysis is used to target and eliminate fat cells by literally freezing them. The extreme cooling causes targeted fat cells to crystallize (called apoptosis) and disintegrate.
o DNA-based weight loss: An entire regimen is customized to one's DNA for losing weight healthily. A peak into a patient's DNA helps therapists and dietician chart out as to what kind of food categories and exercise types along with respective therapies would help him lose weight.
o Non-invasive slimming treatments: The year 2017 saw a spurt in demand for science-backed slimming treatments which did not need patients to go under the knife. Body tightening is a continually advancing field. The non-surgical techniques can tighten and smooth the skin almost magically erasing the signs of time.
