Be Proud Of Your Web Errors

Idyllic Software in association with GlobalGiving have come up with an unique web based application called "Proud Errors". Proud Errors camouflage the error pages of websites with social causes.

This 'think-different, make-difference' Ruby on Rails (RoR) Team developed a web application that provides enrolled websites with an easy code snippet. Thereafter, every error page (#404) and page not found (#500) for the partner websites display a global cause. This way a company can perform corporate social responsibility too with ease in a digital ground.

To top it up, the best part of this application is it is completely free. "Our main aim is to reach out to hundreds of website owners, small startups and corporates to help spread the word of awareness about the various causes and feel proud and not guilty for the flaws in your website ,"says Gaurav Gaglani, Software Director at Idyllic.

Unlike other applications, the USP of this app is it is user friendly, transparent and varied. "The partner websites have a flexibility to choose causes they wish to support from a range of 2000 plus causes, courtesy GlobalGiving. From supporting cruelty against animals to lighting the lamp of education for a child to raising voice against human trafficking, you name the cause and we have it for you," describes Gaurav.

Jinesh Parekh, Managing Director at Idyllic Software says, "It is a conscious initiative that we took up to replace error pages with a social cause. You don't need money to make difference in society. What you need is intention!"

Startup Guru Founder Brian Tsuchiya said, "Most of small businesses I come across leave CSR for big companies. Proud Errors gives such companies a chance to be conscious and make a difference in society". He further added, "It is even beneficial for these companies. Standing for a cause adds value to their brand image. Further, supporting a cause from your own domain stresses how committed a company you are. For example, a university in Ohio supporting "Send 50 Students to High School in Belize" cause is a university committed to education."

So face your errors with pride and be responsible for the development and betterment of the world you live in.
