Bajaj Auto Posts Highest Ever Commercial Vehicles Domestic Sales In November 2017; Surges 157%

In the domestic market, Bajaj Auto commercial vehicles’ sales surged 157 per cent and stood at 37,887 units. Its exports went up by 41 per cent at 24,601 commercial vehicles

Indian two-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto has recorded 16 per cent growth in its overall domestic sales for the month of November 2017.

The company sold 179,835 units during November 2017 as against 154,523 units during same month previous year.

Bajaj Auto’s overall exports increased by 27 per cent and stood at 146,623 units when compared with 115,425 units during November 2016.

What is worth mentioning here that Bajaj Auto registered its highest ever domestic and total sales in its commercial vehicles segment. In the domestic market, Bajaj Auto commercial vehicles’ sales surged 157 per cent and stood at 37,887 units. Its exports went up by 41 per cent at 24,601 commercial vehicles.

Overall, Bajaj Auto sold 62,488 commercial vehicles during November 2017, thereby posting year-on-year growth of 94 per cent.

When it comes to motorcycles segment, Bajaj Auto’s domestic sales increased 2 per cent and exports by 25 per cent at 141,948 units and 122,022 units, respectively.

According to reports, the company is in the process to launch its much awaited quadricycle – Bajaj Qute, after a hiatus of five long years. Says Shrikant Akolkar (Research Analyst- Auto, Angel Broking) “Bajaj Auto has been waiting for long to launch its quadricycle which has been delayed due to the regulatory hurdles. The company already has a capacity of about 25,000 quadricycles and it currently exports its quadricycles to several countries.”
