Pallavi leads Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co as a Managing Partner. She commenced her career at a time when women faced hard time being received as a serious lawyer. As a regular lawyer at Supreme Court and High Court, she had fought some of the biggest litigation cases. Wife of a famous Corporate Lawyer Shardul S Shroff, Pallavi has been a legal representative for various private and public firms in some of the most challenging matters with regards to infrastructure, legislation, policy, natural resources etc.
She often appears on various platforms including legal, government etc. forums. Last year, Shroff was also appointed as an Independent Director at One97 Communications, holding firm of Paytm. She has completed her education from University of Delhi and Mumbai University.
Being an active lawyer in the area of dispute resolution and arbitration competition law, Shroff has represented the whole Indian Industry case in the presidential reference proceedings whose judgment is historical which informs the methods of disposing natural resources in the country. She also represents companies including BHEL, Vodafone, General Electric and various others. Vijay Shekhar Sharma, founder and CEO of Paytm finds Shroff as the most distinguished leader among the legal fraternity of the country. She is also a part of many company’s board team including Juniper Hotels, Maruti Suzuki India, Apollo Tyres etc. She has also been awarded The Most Powerful Women in India Business for six years in sequence i.e. from 2013 till 2018. In 2018, Shroff was also awarded A Lifetime Achievement Award during the event of Legal Era’s Indian Legal Awards.
Pallavi S Shroff has been a driving force since 2015 after she took over the firm as the Managing Partner. From a 60 partner company to 100, Shroff has taken the legal firm to heights. She is currently serving as an Alternate Member representing India at the International Court of Arbitration, an international branch of International Chamber of Commerce, Paris. It is the world’s leading institute in arbitration law. She was also a member of SVS Raghavan Committee, a committee which supported the legal framework of the new Competition Law and a draft of the new Competition Act.
