The Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIML), the fourth IIM to be set up in the country, is today recognised as an ‘Institution of Excellence’ by the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) and serves as a mentor for some of the more recently established IIMs. Since its inception, the institute has touched millions of lives through its faculty, alumni and support staff. The IIML moulds its students into value driven leaders, managers and global players.

Situated in a city known for its cultural heritage, the IIML inculcates human values and professional ethics into its students so they may be able to make a positive impact on society both at home and around the world. Aspiring as it does to meet both local and global requirements in management education, the IIML has through research, consultancy and training, managed to spruce up its management education systems for business, industry and public services. The IIML provides an academically inspiring environment that enables its students to explore their potentials for the benefit of business, governments and society at large.

With the AMBA accreditation of its management programmes, the institute offers Postgraduate Programmes (PGP) in Management, Fellow Programmes in Management (FPM), Management Development Programmes (MDPs), Business Management for Working Managers (WMP), Agri-business Management (PGPABM) and an International Programme in Management for Executives (IPMX). The institute has recently collaborated with John Wiley and Sons, a global leader in research and education, for a six-month WileyNXT Executive Education Programme in business and data analytics. The IIML’s curriculum comprises 11 disciplines, including Agribusiness Management, Business Environment, Communication, Decision Sciences, Finance and Accounting, Human Resources Management, Information Technology and Systems, Legal Management, Operations Management and Strategic Management.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his ministerial colleagues recently took lessons in governance and leadership at the IIML, which is a first such initiative. The lessons were part of a leadership development programme named ‘Manthan’, conducted by senior faculty of the institute. The institute lays special emphasis on corporate values and skills, which are crucial for the decision-making process. It also offers expertise in functional domains.

The IIML imparts management education through socially conscious and globally relevant thought leadership programmes. Students are nurtured so they may emerge as value-based young leaders, capable of driving social and economic transformations towards an ethical, just and sustainable society. Its network of 4,500-plus alumni hold top-rung positions in both industry and academia across the globe and are a living testimony to its ability to groom creative, courageous and responsible global leaders.
