Directed by Kabir Khan and starring Salman Khan, ‘Tubelight’ continues to be a huge disappointment for the audiences and the critics alike. So far, the film has managed a total business of Rs 118.95 crore at the domestic box office.

‘Tubelight’ only managed to record a total collection of Rs 21.15 crore on its opening day. The movie was expected to pick up on the occasion of Eid but only raked in Rs 106.86 crore in its opening week at the box office with Rs 64.77 crore over the weekend and Rs 42.09 crore on the weekdays.

In its second weekend, ‘Tubelight’ managed to do a total business of Rs 8.19 crore with a collection of Rs 2.15 crore on Friday (30 June), Rs 2.78 crore on Saturday (1 July) and Rs 3.26 crore on Sunday (2 July).

The movie witnessed a 28 per cent drop in its box office collections and recorded a collection of only Rs 1.55 crore on its 2nd Monday (3 July) and Rs 1.30 crore on its second Tuesday (4 July). According to recent estimates, ‘Tubelight’ flattered even more at the domestic box office on its 2nd Wednesday (5 July) and only managed a mere amount of approx. Rs 1.05 crore.

Produced under the banner of Salman Khan Films, the film also stars Sohail Khan, Chinese actress Zhu Zhu, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, late actor Om Puri and Matin Rey Tangu. The film is expected to cross Rs 120 crore at the domestic box office by the end of its second week. Despite being the fourth highest grosser of 2017 so far, the box office collections of the movie are dismal and disappointing. Reportedly, the film is expected to do a business of only around Rs 12-12.50 crore in its second week at the box office.

‘Tubelight’ was supposed to have a huge release in China post its India release but there is no confirmation as such regarding the same as well.

Released across 4350 screens in the country and across 1200 screens at the international market, ‘Tubelight’ was the single big release of its week at the box office. Now what remains to be seen is whether this movie will move past its second week at the domestic box office or not.
