Asus Zenfone Max Pro (M1) Gets Fota Update

The budget smartphone Asus Zenfone Max Pro (M1) from Taiwanese electronics brand has been updated with a ‘Fota’ i.e. Firmware Over-the-air. Other smartphones which come with a Fota update are OnePlus 6T, Vivo V11 pro, Realme U1, Honor 9N, Redmi 6A, Redmi Note 6 pro

Asus Zenfone Max Pro (M1) was launched in India in 2018 with two RAM+storage configurations 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB priced Rs 10,999 and Rs 12,999, respectively.

Asus is offering FOTA version - OPM1.WW_Phone-15.2016.1901.339-20190108). Firmware Over-the-air (FOTA) is a way in which device’s firmware is updated wirelessly by the manufacturer. The things which are expected from this update are - Optimise system stability - Update Google Patches to Jan’19.

Asus Zenfone max Pro (M1)

Asus Zenfone max pro runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor coupled with 3GB/4GB RAM and Adreno 509 GPU. The device has 32GB/64GB internal storage which is expandable up to 2TB through a dedicated MicroSD card slot.

The device features a 5.99-inch FHD+ (2160x1080) FullView display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D curved glass. For security, there is a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and Face unlock feature.

It comes up with a dual rear camera setup with two 13-megapixel+5-megapixel sensors with which users can click pictures in bokeh mode. On the front is an 8-megapixel selfie snapper with Softlight LED.

The device is backed by a 5,000mAh battery which Asus claims can give 199 hours of music playback, 25.3 hours of 1080p Video playback, and up to 42 hours of 3G talk time.

The battery also supports fast charging, which gets 100% charged in 2 hours and 42 minutes. The company also touted that Max Pro’s battery gets full charged 30 minutes earlier than Redmi Note 5 Pro.

Device’s connectivity options are as- Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, Micro-USB, Location, 3.5mm audio-jack, and 4G VoLTE. It measures 159 x 69 x 8.6mm and weighs 180 grams.
