HR professionals from the industry discuss the role of AI and Technology in creating happy organizations at a panel discussion at 5th HR Excellence Awards 2020

How can AI (artificial intelligence) and HI (human intelligence) help solve the issues of talent and manpower? An elite panel of experts from the field of Human Resources deliberated on the topic at the panel discussion at 5th HR Excellence Awards 2020. The session chair for the panel was Sunil Kumar, President, BW Businessworld and exchange4media. The panellists were Kavita Dasan, CHRO, ABP News Network, Subir Verma, Head HR, Tata Power, Abhay Kapoor, Senior HR Leader, Amazon India, Krishnan KS, AVP Learning and CO, Mindtree.
One of the panelist pointed out to a survey and citied the Gallop data that shows that 85 per cent of the employees in any organization are not fully engaged with their employers. For any HR person it is critical to look out for happiness of their employees and ensure that they remain engaged with the organization, said a panelist.
Mentioning the secret of a happy organisation, Verma of Tata Power said: “Any employee who comes to the company comes with his head, hand and heart. All these things should be satisfied well by the organisation.”
Kapoor of Amazon India said he believed that happiness was a very fluctuating term where the HR played a crucial role in engaging people and maintaining the happiness matrix in the organisation.
“Technology plays a big role in enhancing the happiness at an organisation by helping the HR to maintain one to one connect with the employees”, said Krishnan KS of Mindtree.
According to Dasan of ABP News Network, the role of any HR person is only going to go up with the availability of more data and too much of distraction. “HR is the flag-bearer of managing the human psychology and the most important asset for any organisation is its people so to make them happy is important”, she added.
