Since it was established in 1996, the Indian Institute of Management, Indore (IIMI) has been a leader in the field of management education. The IIMI aims to be a contextually-relevant business school and has had a regular interface with industry, the government and public sector undertakings (PSUs). It strives for world-class academic standards and to be able to develop socially-conscious managers, leaders and entrepreneurs. The institute also has an off-campus presence in India’s financial capital, Mumbai.
Situated atop a scenic hillock, IIMI provides an ideal backdrop for contemplative learning. It offers the latest in teaching aids and has rich learning resources, a strong IT backbone and a contemporary infrastructure that includes a state-of-the-art sports complex and hostels.
The IIMI has adapted its courses to the evolving changes in management education. It provides a broad array of programmes, formats and locations (Indore and Mumbai) to cope with the diverse requirements of management education. It offers a Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), a Post Graduate Programme in Management, Mumbai (PGP-Mumbai), an Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP), a Fellow Programme in Management (FPM), a Post Graduate Programme in Management-MX, Mumbai (PGPMX-Mumbai), a Fellow Programme in Management-Industry (FPM Industry), a Five-Year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) and a Faculty Development Programme.
The institute also offers executive programmes, including a Management Development Programme (MDP), a Post Graduate Programme in Management-MX, Mumbai (PGPMX-Mumbai), Customised Programmes, Virtual Learning Programme for Executives (VLPE) and a Certificate Course in Business Management for Defence Officers (CCBMDO). The IIMI is the first and the only institute to offer an undergraduate programme for young students who have passed out of school. The institute leads among the IIMs in terms of the number of participants.
Its highly qualified faculty provides a participant-centred approach to management education. As on date, 25 IIMI faculty members have been deputed for the Participant-Centred Learning Programme at the Harvard Business School. The institute ensures building a resilient connect with industry not just for outstanding placements, but also to modernise the course curriculum for all the courses in keeping with the requirements of the industry.
