The new ColorOS 7 is based on Android 10. OPPO has positioned itself as a brand targeting the Indian audience and that shows clearly in OS 7 too. The new OS 7 has a series of Apps targeted towards the Indian audience.
DocVault: The DocVault is OPPO’s digital locker in association with Government of India’s DigiLocker, and OPPO is the first smartphone brand to make such move. In fact DocVault has a much superior user interface than the original DigiLocker. Pushing it through OPPO phones will now increase the popularity of the App. Users can keep all your important documents such as Aadhaar Card, Driving License, Permanent Account Number for Income Tax, Registration of vehicle safe in this space. Once the documents are uploaded, they are equally legitimate as the hard copies and you can use them when checking in at the airports and hotels, or inspected by the traffic police.
The Personal Information Protection Feature: We live in an age where personal data theft is becoming a regular problem. Most of the third party apps access a lot of private information from location to call history. In addition a lot of us have credit card details, personal emails and passwords and other crucial information saved on our phones. The ColorOS 7 has a Personal Information Protection feature that stops any third party app from accessing private information.
Screenshots Functionality: We have seen the 3 finger screenshot functionality in older version of ColorOS. However ColorOS 7 takes the screenshot functionality to the next level. Users can now take screenshots of longer pages or choose a particular portion of the webpage to take screenshot. This saves a lot of trouble to edit, join or crop screenshots later.
Better Icon Management: The default icons of ColorOS 7 are lot cleaner, smaller and better spaced out. The fonts are also improved and looks much better than the previous versions of the OS. The icons on the icon tray look neat in both normal anddark mode. But the most interesting thing is the icon management is the customization option where users can choose between default, pebble and rectangle icon options. The fact that Color OS 7 manages to pull off the trick for thousands of third party apps is really interesting. It also makes the desktop look uniform and interesting.
Dark Mode Implementation: Dark mode is a default functionality for Android 10. However ColorOS 7 builds on it and take it a step ahead. Turning on the dark mode uniformly darkens many third party apps too that are compatible. This means the dark mode of Whatsapp is available to ColorOS 7 users much before the official role out of the same.
Gaming Prowess: The ColorOS 7 has a dedicated Game Space which acts as a control centre for all games. The new OS& Game space starts with a new opening animation, allows you to record game play and more than that, even pause in between while recording. If this was not enough, there is a Hyper Boost technology that optimizes frame rate to improve gaming experience. Customers do not need to manually turn on any setting and it detects and predicts game heavy loading scenarios and reallocates system resources according to consumption of layers in advance. OPPO claims it improves the performance by 38%
