4 Ex-CMs, 39 MLA Expected To Be Part of Expanded Cabinet

As many as 11 sitting ministers, both of Cabinet rank and State ministers tendered their resignations earlier today

Prime Minister Modi's new expanded cabinet is set to include at least 43 faces (several new, some getting elevation) and would be be one of the "most inclusive with record representation of SC, ST members", reported news agency ANI. Among the 43, there are at least four former Chief Ministers including Narayan Tatu Rane and Sarbananda Sonowal and 18 Minister of States would be part of the oath-taking ceremony slated at 6 PM July 7, 2021.

Sitting Ministers who tendered their resignations earlier in the day included Harsh Vardhan, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Santosh Gangwar, Labour Minister, Sadananda Gowda, Minister of Chemical and Fertilser, Babul Supriyo, Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Thawarchand Gehlot, Union Minister, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment among others.

Key ministries waiting to welcome new ministers include health, labour, Social Justice & Empowerment, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Women and Child Development among others.

Here’s the complete list of ministers-designate who took the oath today:

1. Shri Narayan Tatu Rane
Narayan Tatu Rane is serving his first term as Rajya Sabha MP for Maharashtra. He has also served as a six-time MLA and one-time MLC in Maharashtra. He hails from Konkan, Maharashtra.

2. Shri Sarbananda Sonowal
Sarbananda Sonowal (58-yr) is a Lok Sabha MP for Assam, serving his second term. Earlier he was a two term MLA and served as Assam’s popular Chief Minister from 2016-21.

3. Dr Virendra Kumar
Dr Virendra Kumar is a Lok Sabha MP for Tikamgarh in Madhya Pradesh. His long tenure comprises seven times MP that makes him one of the senior-most Parliamentarians.

4. Shri Jyotiraditya M Scindia
At the age of 50, Jyotiraditya M Scindia has achieved much popularity in terms of his work. He is serving his fifth term as MP.

5. Shri Ramchandra Prasad Singh
Ramchandra Prasad Singh is a retired IAS officer of the 1984 batch. He is serving his second term as a Rajya Sabha MP for Bihar.

6. Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw
Ashwini Vaishnaw is a former IAS officer of the 1994 batch. He is a Rajya Sabha MP for Odisha.

7. Shri Pashu Pati Kumar Paras
Pashu Pati Kumar Paras is the Lok Sabha MP for Hajipur in Bihar. His long tenure as a seven-time MLA and one-time MLC in Bihar, makes him one of India’s senior-most state legislators.

8. Shri Kiren Rijiju
Kiren Rijiju is an Indian lawyer and politician from Arunachal Pradesh. A member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Rijiju is the current Minister of State of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and Minister of State in the Ministry of Minority Affairs of India

9. Shri Raj Kumar Singh
Singh is a former Indian bureaucrat and a current Minister of State in the Government of India.

10.Shri Hardeep Singh Puri
Hardeep Singh Puri is an Indian politician, former diplomat who is the current Civil Aviation Minister of India and Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs in India.

11.Shri Mansukh Mandaviya
Mansukh Laxmanbhai Mandaviya is the Union Minister of State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways and Union Minister of State for Chemical and Fertilizers.

12.Shri Bhupender Yada
Bhupender Yadav is serving his 2nd term as Rajya Sabha MP for Rajasthan. Also, he is known for his leadership skills.

13.Shri Parshottam Rupala
Parshottam Khodabhai Rupala is a Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. He was a member of Rajya Sabha, representing the Indian state of Gujarat and a leader of Bharatiya Janata Party.

14.Shri G. Kishan Reddy
Gangapuram Kishan Reddy is currently serving as Minister of State for Home Affairs, Government of India.

15.Shri Anurag Singh Thakur
Thakur is a member of the Lower House of Parliament in India from Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh, and also serves as a Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs.

16.Shri Pankaj Choudhary
Pankaj Choudhary is an Indian politician and member of 10th, 11th, 12th, 14th, 16th and 17th Loksabha from Maharajganj in Uttar Pradesh of India as a member of Bharatiya Janata Party.

17.Smt. Anupriya Singh Patel
Anupriya Patel is an Indian politician from the state of Uttar Pradesh. She represents Mirzapur in Lok Sabha since 2014. She was the Minister of State in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, from 2016 to 2019.

18.Dr. Satya Pal Singh Baghel
Satya Pal Singh Baghel was elected to the Lok Sabha for the Samajwadi Party thrice, and once to the Rajya Sabha. In 2019, Baghel was elected to Lok Sabha from Agra as a member of BJP.

19.Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar
Rajeev Chandrasekhar is a Member of Parliament in the upper house of the Indian Parliament and an entrepreneur.

20.Sushri Shobha Karandlaje
Sushri Shobha Karandlaje is a Lok Sabha MP for Udupi Chikmagalur in Karnataka, serving her second term as MP.

21.Shri Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma
Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma is serving his fifth term as Lok Sabha MP for Jalaun in Uttar Pradesh,

22.Smt. Darshana Vikram Jardosh
Darshana Vikram Jardosh is a Lok Sabha MP for Surat in Gujarat, serving her third term as MP.

23.Smt. Meenakashi Lekhi
Meenakshi Lekhi is a Member of Parliament from New Delhi Parliamentary constituency in the 16th and 17th Lok Sabha.

24.Smt. Annpurna Devi
Annapurna Devi Yadav was elected to the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, from Kodarma as a member of the Rashtriya Janata Dal.

25.Shri A. Narayanaswamy
Abbaiah Narayanaswamy is an MP who represents Chitradurga (SC) constituency in Karnataka.. A four-time MLA from his home-turf from 1998 to 2013, the 64-year-old was picked to the Lok Sabha for the first time in 2019.

26.Shri Kaushal Kishore
Kaushal Kishore is a member of Parliament in Loksabha, representing Mohan Lalganj constituency, Uttar Pradesh.

27.Shri Ajay Bhatt
Ajay Bhatt is the Member of Parliament from Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar Lok Sabha Constituency and State President of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Uttarakhand.

28.Shri B. L. Verma
B. L. Verma is a Member of Parliament in Rajya Sabha, the Upper House of the Indian Parliament. He is the current state vice-president of Bharatiya Janata Party, Uttar Pradesh.

29.Shri Ajay Kumar
Ajay Kumar is a Lok Sabha MP for Kheri in Uttar Pradesh, serving his second term as MP

30.Shri Chauhan Devusinh
Devusinh Jesingbhai Chauhan is a member of parliament to the 16th Lok Sabha from Kheda, Gujarat

31.Shri Bhagwanth Khuba
Bhagwanth Gurubasappa Khuba is the Member of Parliament of the Bidar lok sabha constituency.

32.Shri Kapil Moreshwar Patil
Kapil Patil is politician from Bhiwandi, Thane, in Maharashtra state of India. He was Chairman of Thane District Co-operative Bank.

33.Sushri Pratima Bhoumik
Annpurna Devi (51-yr) is a Lok Sabha MP for Kodarma in Jharkhand, serving her first term as MP. She has been a four-time MLA from Jharkhand and Bihar. She has filled in as Cabinet Minister in Gov of Jharkhand, on portfolios such as Irrigation, Women and Child Welfare, Registration.

34.Dr. Subhas Sarkar
A. Narayanaswamy (64-yr) is a Lok Sabha MP for Chitradurg in Karnataka, serving his first term as MP. He has been chosen four times as an MLA in Karnataka Legislative Assembly. Narayanswamy has also been a Cabinet Minister in Karnataka Government and served more than 30 years in service.

35.Dr. Bhagwat Kishanrao Karad
Bhagwat Kishanrao Karad (64-yr) is a Rajya Sabha MP for Maharashtra, serving his first term as MP. He has been a Mayor of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation and Chairman of Marathwada Legal Development Corporation.

36.Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh
Rajkumar Ranjan Singh (68-yr) is a Lok Sabha MP for Inner Manipur in Manipur, serving his first term as MP. Preceding his political career, he has had a long professional history as a Geography Professor, going on to be the Director of College Development Council in Manipur University.

37.Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar
Bharati Pravin Pawar (42-yr) is a Lok Sabha MP for Dindori in Maharashtra, serving her first term as MP. She was a Member of Nashik Zila Parishad and worked for the cause of addressing issues of unhealthiness and giving clean drinking water.

38.Shri Bishweswar Tudu
Bishweswar Tudu, 56 years, is a Lok Sabha MP for Mayurbhanj in Odisha, serving his first term as MP. He hails from the Cuttack locale of Odisha.

39.Shri Shantanu Thakur
Shantanu Thakur (38-yr) is a Lok Sabha MP for Bongaon in West Bengal, serving his first term as MP. He holds a BA degree in English from Karnataka State Open University and Diploma in Hospitality Management.

40.Dr. Munjapara Mahendrabhai
Munjapara Mahendrabhai, 52 years, is a Lok Sabha MP for Surendranagar in Gujarat, serving his first term as MP. As a social worker, he provided medical drugs at Rs 2 and had made assisted more 8 lakh patients through different clinical camps.

41.Shri John Barla
John Barla, 45 years, is a Lok Sabha MP for Alipurduars in West Bengal, serving his first term as MP. He has worked for the rights of tea garden workers, essentially in North Bengal and Assam for 20 years.

42.Dr. L. Murugan
L Murugan (44-yr) has worked as a Lawyer in Madras High Court prior to joining full-time public life. He was VC of the National Commission of Scheduled Castes from 2017 to 2020.

43.Shri Nisith Pramanik
Nisith Pramanik (35-yr) is a Lok Sabha MP for Cooch Behar in West Bengal, serving his first term as MP. He has additionally worked as an Assistant Teacher in a Primary School and has a BCA degree.
