3G Roaming: TDSAT Asks Govt Not To Take Action Till Jan 3

A telecom tribunal on Saturday asked the country's telecoms ministry not to take any "coercive" action over an order to ban 3G roaming until the next hearing, after firms appealed against the government order.

TDSAT directs DoT not to take coercive action against three telecom firms over inter-circle 3G roaming pact till January 3.

TDSAT has also issued notice to DoT asking it to file reply in 3G roaming pact case by next Saturday.

Firms including Bharti Airtel, Vodafone's Indian unit and Idea Cellular, three of India's top four carriers, had challenged the telecoms ministry order on Friday, asking the firms to comply with it within 24 hours.
